Who you are dealing with

Anyone dealing with a business is entitled to know who it is and where to reach it, so this is set out plainly rather than left to be worked out from the rest of the site.

What this site is for

It describes what we do and how to reach us. Nothing on it is an offer capable of acceptance, and nothing on it is legal, financial or governance advice. Every engagement begins with a written agreement setting out what we will do and what it costs.

Where the site describes how a meeting is conducted, it describes our ordinary practice. Your own constitution, memorandum of incorporation or rules govern your meeting, and where they differ from anything here, they win.

Writing to us

When you contact us, tell us the truth and do not send us anything you are not entitled to send — in particular, another organisation's membership register or a person's information you have no right to share. We handle what you send us as described in our privacy notice.

Do not use this site or its contact address to send unsolicited marketing, to attempt to gain access to systems you have no right to, or to interfere with anybody else's use of it.

Joining a meeting

If you are a member of an organisation that has engaged us, your access to a meeting comes from that organisation, not from us. We cannot admit you to a meeting, resend your code, or tell you anything about your membership record without them. That is not unhelpfulness; a register is not ours to open.

Our content

The text, design, marks and software on this site belong to Motherland Seed. You may read it, quote it with attribution, and print it for your own use. You may not reproduce it as your own or use our name or mark in a way that suggests we are involved in something we are not.

Availability and accuracy

We keep this site accurate and available, but it is a website: it may be down, and a page may be out of date. We do not warrant that it is error-free or uninterrupted.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from relying on this site's content. That limitation is about the website only: it does not touch our obligations under a signed agreement, which are set out in that agreement.

Some liability cannot lawfully be excluded, and we do not attempt to exclude it. Under section 51 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 a supplier may not contract out of liability for gross negligence, and section 61 imposes liability for harm caused by unsafe goods regardless of fault. The Constitution guarantees a right of access to courts under section 34, so nothing here prevents you taking a dispute to one. We also do not limit liability for death or personal injury, or for our own fraud or dishonesty.

Changes, and which law applies

We may change these terms; the current version is always the one on this page, with its date. They are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
